“It’s not absence, it is sophistication.”

PHOTOGRAPHY: GISELE ESPINDOLA | PROJECT: CAROLINA REZENDE

Mies van der Rohe’s phrase “less is more” resonates in every choice made when photographing architecture. And perhaps it gains even greater meaning when applied to the light that remains at day’s end. During twilight, what guides composition is not the sun’s exuberance, but the subtlety of reflections, the balance between natural and built.

In this outdoor project, the intention was to preserve an atmosphere of elegance without excess. Even with noble materials, pool lighting, and an exuberant setting, I chose a gentle treatment: no saturated colors, no forced contrasts. Luxury lies in breathing space, in symmetry, in details that emerge when the gaze slows down.

Because photographing is not just about showing space, it’s about translating its intention. And here, the intention is clear: to welcome, enchant, and remain in memory without needing noise. The image accompanies the environment.

Silent, precise, serene.
