SPRING 2026

Bold Harmony

Reintroducing soul into this classic New Jersey brownstone was the driving force behind this project by Dwello Design, led by designer Anastasia Lewis. The resulting atmosphere feels sophisticated yet unpretentious, shaped by thoughtful art curation, custom-made elements, and a confident interplay of texture and pattern, where the resident’s bold personality aligns with Dwello’s design vision.

A blend of custom-made elements and carefully curated brands defines the dining area. For seating, the Morel dining chairs by Sun at Six were reupholstered in P. Kaufmann’s Traverse Check fabric, creating visual continuity between the dining and living spaces.

Above the table, the Jean pendant by Huey Lightshop reinforces this dialogue through its classic silhouette and deep burgundy hue. “We all loved how its organic shape breaks the geometry of the room,” Lewis notes.

Subtle modern details, such as integrated LED lighting in the built-in bar, enhance the material palette, highlighting the warmth of the wood and the texture of the ribbed glass.

Wine-toned hues anchor the palette, introducing character and playful energy among earthy greens and browns, while adding depth and drama to the interior.

The project relies heavily on custom-made pieces, underscoring Dwello’s commitment to craftsmanship and local makers. In the living room, a bespoke sectional upholstered in bold velvet establishes the tone, paired with an Emperador marble coffee table that anchors the seating area.

The choice of plaid as the unifying pattern stems from its ability to feel both structured and nostalgic. Rather than feeling decorative or trend-driven, the motif conveys a sense of lived-in comfort, referencing the familiar atmosphere of 1970s interiors.
