CasaCor São Paulo 2026

At CASACOR São Paulo 2026, Daniel de Castro Cunha Arquitetura transforms 49 m² into an
urban refuge where art, memory, and identity meet under the theme “Mente e Coração.”

In a historic setting such as Parque da Água Branca, designing a new interior is never only about what is added. It is also about what remains.

For CASACOR São Paulo 2026, Daniel de Castro Cunha Arquitetura presents The Collectors’ Suite, a 49 m² environment shaped by the encounter between art, memory, and personal identity.

The project is organized into three distinct areas: bedroom, home office, and closet. Rather than imposing a new language over the existing architecture, Daniel chose to work in dialogue with the building’s preserved character. The original flooring was maintained, as were the historic walls and architectural elements that define the space. The result is an interior that does not erase time, but allows it to become part of the composition.

For the architect, this balance is central to the project’s meaning. “Spaces gain more significance when we are able to balance what was already there with what we add,” says Daniel. In this suite, that idea appears through restraint, texture, and a careful layering of references.

The headboard is the defining gesture of the bedroom. Nearly four meters long and divided into three sections, the custom piece was designed by the architect’s office and upholstered in fabric by Entreposto. Its scale gives structure to the room, while its softness introduces a sense of shelter. Daniel describes it as “almost like an embrace,” a phrase that captures the emotional tone of the environment.

Green appears throughout the suite as a subtle connecting thread. Inspired by the surrounding nature, the color helps soften the boundary between interior and exterior. In the bedroom and home office, a silk wallcovering with Indian inspiration reveals shifting green nuances as the light changes throughout the day. The tone also appears in the MDF used for the baseboards, crown moldings, and portals. In the closet, a Missoni wallcovering in shades of blue and green adds depth and movement, while the ceiling receives a nearly imperceptible green-tinted white that gently envelops the space.

Art plays a central role in the narrative. The selection brings together works connected to the dreamlike and the surreal, inviting a slower and more contemplative way of inhabiting the room. Among the highlights are a large canvas by Raiana Rayo in the home office, alongside works by Ismael Nery, Eleonore Koch, and Walter Levy.

The furniture also carries a sense of history. French country pieces from the collection of Arnaldo Danemberg, including the home office desk and an antique dish rack reinterpreted as a bar, introduce marks of time and authenticity. Pieces by Vermeil, books, lighting, decorative objects, and personal references complete the environment, reinforcing the idea of a suite built through memory rather than pure decoration.

With The Collectors’ Suite, Daniel de Castro Cunha Arquitetura creates a space where the past is not treated as a backdrop, but as an active part of the design. It is an interior shaped by atmosphere, intimacy, and the quiet tension between preservation and intervention.

CASACOR São Paulo 2026 is open to visitors through August 9 at Parque da Água Branca, in São Paulo.
